Jesus Has a Plan

Mark 3:22-27:
And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”  So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan?  If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.  And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.  And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.  No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

Jesus was casting out demons. Do we truly realize how important it was that he did this? Or, do we simply look past it as something we believe because it is in the Bible, yet has no real application to our life today? Worse yet, do we write it off as a fiction, something that didn't really happen, just an expression of limited scientific understanding?

I just saw it's importance myself a couple of days ago. The scribes accuse Jesus of casting out demons with demonic power. Jesus answers that this would be ridiculous. Why would satan destroy his own kingdom? Yet, demons are being cast out, and they must be cast out! Why?

Jesus is invading, breaking in, entering the strong man's house. The earth is enemy territory for the Prince of Glory. And, before Jesus can save us [the goods, the rightful property of the strong man] he must first defeat the strong man, satan, the master of this house. Unless satan is bound, unless the demonic is cast out, we cannot be stolen from the strong man and rescued to God.


Jesus has a plan:
Step One: Defeat satan.
Step Two: Steal those who once belonged to him.

Without Step One, Jesus says, Step Two is impossible.

YES! YES! YES! When we were talking about this and searching Truth for Beauty, I saw a clear picture of Jesus in this verse of how to over come the demonic ...it is ONLY by allowing Him in our minds/hearts/and souls to BIND the strong man (*atan). It cannot be by our own power or will. The sin, lust, eating disorders, gambling and so on can't just flee, we have to give Jesus permission to do so and come in to bind *atan. And HE WILL tell the demons to flee and THEN reclaim what was His. It is clear! It's really cool that He was able to tell us this. We need to allow His Power to rule. He can't come save us from the demonic unless He binds *atan. He can't bind *atan from our minds unless we ASK, unless we INVITE Him to do so. THEN HE WILL RECLAIM! Amen Bryan! God has given you a treasure in this revelation!

Gone

We saw her born. I cut her cord. We waited. We loved and thanked her birth-parents. We visited with them, ate with them, rejoiced with them. We took her from the hospital. We watched her all night. We hardly slept. We set up stations for changing and sleeping. We fed her. We changed her. We worried about germs. We held her. We prayed over her. We sang to her. We talked to her. We cleaned the stub of her umbilical cord. We memorized her changing little face: her nose, her ears, her blue eyes, her soft dark hair. She was perfect and we fell in love right away. She squeaked. She sighed. She looked at us. She snuggled. She held our fingers. She ate passionately, liked noise better than quiet, and learned to anticipate a camera's flash by the "1 - 2 - 3" that preceded it. 100 Days of Micah!

Here are my girls! Today is Micah Ahava Elise's 100th day!     So, what are some of our favorite things about Micah?   1. She is alive! 2. All her labs are normal 3. She is 5 1/2 pounds 4. She is awake a lot 5. She is breastfeeding 3 times a day 6. She is 14 weeks, 1 day (37 weeks, 5 days gestation) 7. Her steroids have stopped (really this time) with no signs of stress 8. She smiles 9. She makes sounds while she is eating 10. She burps! 11. Her eyes look good and healthy 12. She has a strong heart 13. She had a good echo-cardiogram 14. She squeaks 15.
