Olivia is part of a group called, NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP, which photographs the much too short lives of so many of our children. Their photos say what the children cannot. Their photos say, "I was here." Their photos say, "Remember me." Today, I want to talk about a related issue. The children Olivia and other photographers help their families remember and mourn are lost shortly after birth, or die before birth happens. They are the innocent dead. Truly, they are not intentional victims of any wrong doing. Others are not so lucky.

In America, we intentionally abort one out of three pregnancies (1.5 million children a year). 95% of those abortions are used as a means of birth control. 700,000 of these abortions annually are performed after the 9th week, when the baby is able to feel pain. In our sexually promiscuous society, most women who have abortions are unmarried and under the age of 25 years old. Abortion is one of the most common surgical procedures in the United States.

Please don't hear an attack against any person in what I say here. I'm not about condemning people who have believed the lie of abortion. {There is hope, healing and grace available for you!} I'm about taking a stand for truth.

Abortion is a lie. Abortion is wrong. Abortion is unacceptable. I was born after Roe v. Wade. I'm a survivor. I'm the voice of the friends, classmates, and teammates I never got to meet. These 40,000,000 Americans don't have photos. All they have is me, all they have is you, reminding the world, "They were here."

Your support towards me will never cease to bring me joy. Natalie is waiting in heaven for us! ISn't that a great thing to know? I am so thankful for Jesus and His love for us, that we would join Him and all believers in a place with no more pain. Love you.

Gone

We saw her born. I cut her cord. We waited. We loved and thanked her birth-parents. We visited with them, ate with them, rejoiced with them. We took her from the hospital. We watched her all night. We hardly slept. We set up stations for changing and sleeping. We fed her. We changed her. We worried about germs. We held her. We prayed over her. We sang to her. We talked to her. We cleaned the stub of her umbilical cord. We memorized her changing little face: her nose, her ears, her blue eyes, her soft dark hair. She was perfect and we fell in love right away. She squeaked. She sighed. She looked at us. She snuggled. She held our fingers. She ate passionately, liked noise better than quiet, and learned to anticipate a camera's flash by the "1 - 2 - 3" that preceded it. 100 Days of Micah!

Here are my girls! Today is Micah Ahava Elise's 100th day!     So, what are some of our favorite things about Micah?   1. She is alive! 2. All her labs are normal 3. She is 5 1/2 pounds 4. She is awake a lot 5. She is breastfeeding 3 times a day 6. She is 14 weeks, 1 day (37 weeks, 5 days gestation) 7. Her steroids have stopped (really this time) with no signs of stress 8. She smiles 9. She makes sounds while she is eating 10. She burps! 11. Her eyes look good and healthy 12. She has a strong heart 13. She had a good echo-cardiogram 14. She squeaks 15.
