Life After Roe
Dobbs vs. Jackson has finally overturned Roe vs. Wade and there is much to consider. First, consider that the original ruling was not based on constitutional law but political agenda. Therefore, the new ruling is merely a correction to judicial overreach. Second, consider that there is no such thing as a “safe” abortion, either for the mother or especially for the child whose life is distorted. Abortion is not health care and is never medically necessary. Third, for those of us who are Christians, consider the biblical prohibitions against child sacrifice. I do not believe a “Christian “who supports or advocates the killing of an unborn child has a truly Christian worldview.
Now that I have offended those among my fellow countrymen (and family members) who will be offended no matter what I say on this topic, I would like to offer a word of practical encouragement to those of us who actually care about the unborn. An overwhelming number of companies in our nation have chosen to circumvent the rule of law by funding abortion travel for their employees. How are we to respond? I have a few suggestions.
First, find out which companies you do business with are paying for abortion travel with your money. This is easy to do with a simple Internet search.
Second, select three companies to be the focus of your boycott. It is impossible and overwhelming to consider addressing every corporation you do business with that has chosen to support the killing of babies. Focus your efforts on the companies you do the most business with to maximize your impact.
Third, politely but firmly communicate your disagreement with the corporate policy of those selected companies. Use clear language and explain why you will not be doing business with them in the future until the policy is rescinded.
Fourth, find alternative sources for those products and actually make a change in your spending habits. don’t just talk the talk. Make the real changes necessary to keep your hard earned money from facilitating the deaths of more innocent, unborn children. Obviously, you will want to make sure the companies to switch to do not have the same policy.
If you discover that you work for one of these companies, I would encourage you to consider finding another place of employment. I believe God will honor us in this.
My family is in the process of changing our spending habits to eliminate Walmart, Kroger, and even Amazon. I would cancel Facebook and Disney as well, but I already don’t do Facebook or Disney.
You can make a difference. If even one company changes its policy, then you have made a difference and possibly saved a child’s life from being lost and a mother’s heart from years of trauma. Make a difference today!
