Say Something!
"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
I saw this quote on The Glenn Beck Program as I was running tonight at the gym at H-SU, and I've decided I like it. So (before the internet is taken over by the government, and my voice is erased), I want to choose not to remain silent.
I'm worried about where our country is headed. I'm concerned about the statements I hear from people close to Obama; people who influence his views and reinforce his agendas. I'm bothered by the blindness of the general public to the changes that have already taken place in our government. I'm disgucted by the worldview of the Democrats. I'm disappointed by the foundational compromise of the Republican party. And, I particularly blown away by the absence of God from the whole conversation.
I hear a lot of people who want to give Obama a chance. It's even on the front page of today's newspaper, describing America as a 'wait and see' nation. But, isn't nine months of consitently liberal policy, Hollywood superstar status, reallocation of wealth, "economic stimulus", political favoritism, expansion of executive power, liberal media blitz, intimidation tactics, and DC politics as usual enough to say we have a pretty good impression of where this guy is going to try to take us over the next 3 years?
So, I'm going on record as predicting that if our country survives the consequences of this presidency we're going to look at this four years as America's mid-life crisis, our big whoops, our closest brush with death as a nation brought on by a complete loss of common sense as a result of having sprinted away from God for 3 generations. However, even if we do survive, we may have irrevocably ruined our country. If we are not careful, if we keep 'waiting' and don't speak up, we may look back and discover that we are (at best) a semi-socialistic, unproductive, entitlement bound, unhealthy, globally irrelevant, godless, former Super-Power with an annoyingly ambiguous sense of pride and a undefinable obligation to partiotism.
I believe that the liberal agenda is clear and dangerous: restructure America according to their godless, humanistic, power-hungry, socialistic (tyranical), self-justifying agenda, and change the rules so their political dominance can never be questioned.
So, people of good conscience, what do we have to say about it?
