What Are We Really Looking For? Matthew 6:31-33

Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things." (Matthew 6:31-33, The Pew Bibles at City Light are GNT.) The word ‘ so’ in our version is the same as the word ‘therefore’ in other translations, as in “Hmmm... What is this word THERE FOR?” To find out, we will look at the larger context of the passage. These verses are part of the Sermon on the Mount which begins in chapter 5, “Jesus saw the crowds and went up a hill, where he sat down.
